Show Notes

Is God Done with Me? Many people feel they can’t be saved or believe that because they’ve "wandered" away, God no longer loves them. But the truth is, God loves you deeply! The central message of the Bible is redemption—restoring the lost through Jesus Christ. This redemption is available to everyone, including you.

Welcome to yet another episode. Man, how. How are things going? [00:00:56] Speaker B: It's great. Winter day degrees out here, right? It's, it's. It's a glorious. It's a glorious time here. How about yourself, man? How's it going? [00:01:08] Speaker A: You know, it's, it's, it's going, you know, we're moving, moving in the right direction. We're walking and trying to, you know, get back on the, on the right, right path as far as the job front goes. Family's doing well, which is, which is always nice. You know, there's. Kiddos are healthy. It's good with all the bugs there going around. So. [00:01:30] Speaker B: A lot. There's a lot. [00:01:31] Speaker A: But other than that, man, it's super cold here. It was frost on my ground, which, you know, the kids are just, they're thrilled. They're bouncing around. They think it's like the equivalent of snow for Florida kids. [00:01:41] Speaker B: Are they trying to push it all together to make a snowball? [00:01:44] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. They. They're itching to get outside. I told them, I was like, hey, look, you know, it's. It's freezing out there almost literally. But yeah, it's cold here, man. [00:01:53] Speaker B: Oh, it's cold. [00:01:54] Speaker A: I mean, it has been a cold winter across the south, but for Florida, I mean, like, this is. Some people are saying once in a generation kind of cold. So. Yeah, interesting last few weeks of actually having winter. [00:02:07] Speaker B: It snowed in Mobile and it snowed in Auburn, which is. Which is pretty wild, you know. Yeah. [00:02:14] Speaker A: It snowed in Tallahassee, Florida. Like, I mean, it was. Some places in Florida got up to seven inches of snow. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Seven inches of snow. [00:02:22] Speaker A: Yeah. And the panhandle close to going towards Alabama there. So, I mean, it's un. I won't say unprecedented, but it is, it is unusually very winter, like, here in Florida. [00:02:33] Speaker B: Wow. Well, I like it. Well, I don't like when it was like single digits here in Alabama, let me tell you, that's. [00:02:41] Speaker A: No, that'll hurt your feelings when you stuff. [00:02:44] Speaker B: It will. [00:02:44] Speaker A: It will, you know, slap in the face. [00:02:47] Speaker B: It'll. It'll gel up diesel fuel when it gets cold and, you know, that's why you have to do the additive. But you know, in Afghanistan, you would see those guys, they would, their trucks would be on the side of the road and they would literally build a little fire underneath the, the fuel tank. And I remember seeing that going, what's going on? [00:03:05] Speaker A: You're about to blow yourself. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah, you're gonna hurt yourself. But, you know, they, they've obviously been doing it for a while. It wasn't like a bonfire, but it's like a little bitty just to get the fuel, which was hot again and stuff like that. And it was cold, so I definitely had to add stuff to my truck. [00:03:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:22] Speaker B: So, interesting topic today. [00:03:25] Speaker A: You know, I'm excited for this one. So I think it is really relevant for both of us in a lot of different kinds of ways and I'm sure the audience will find the same thing. So what, what do you want to, you wanna, you wanna tell us what the topic's gonna be? [00:03:38] Speaker B: So one of the listeners, Brendan, who's actually an in law, and he and I were kind of talking, he text me up and he goes, hey, you know, there's a lot of people that believe God is finished with them. Like, man, they've, they've had it, they've obviously done things or they're unsavable, right? Which is, which is a very weird statement to hear, but it's, it's very true because that's one of the tricks that the devil plays on you is, are you unsavable or is God done with you? Because you have regressed, right? And a lot of people feel that, you know, he's, he was out there, he's, you know, sharing the gospel and that's the sentiment that he's had returned to him. [00:04:20] Speaker A: So, yeah, yeah, no, I was digging into this and preparing for the show today and I found that same thing there. This question has come up in a lot of the, you know, giants, so to speak, in the, in the Christian community. I try to tackle this. So, you know, the opening question for everyone here today, what we're going to be talking about here on the Jonathan Project podcast is, have you ever felt like you've taken such a wrong turn in life that God might be done with you? And I think that's very relatable for all of us. You know, you've heard, heard me share. You know, one personal antidote was, you know, just career progression and different choices that. That how they impacted my family and, and just my mental health and all these kind of different things that it felt like I was so distant from God. I was so far away from him because of choices that I had made. I made a wrong turn and now he was kind of punishing me, if you will. It felt like a whack, a mole, like I had made the wrong turn and got whacked. [00:05:18] Speaker B: A lot of people do, right? And they think because we judge ourselves by our. We're fallible creatures, right? [00:05:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:28] Speaker B: And, and that's. We think about that. We go, well, I'm not perfect. You know, I promised this love towards God and then all of a sudden it didn't happen. You know, I failed short. And I think that's. That's where a lot of people are. They just, will God still love me? And, you know, you think about. The enemy is here to see. So seeds of dissension really is. He talks about sowing the seeds of tares in with the wheat. And it's a great Bible analogy. And that's kind of. That's not just putting sinners in with saints, but it's also about what he does in our lives. And so you have to weed that out. You know, he's. He's constantly doing that. Making you doubt yourself. [00:06:14] Speaker A: Yeah. So, no, that's a great point. You know, I think that it's this topic, right? Is God done with us? You know, especially for believers. Right. Because it's really where this is going to land and center on. But, you know, for. For those who may not believe that are listening and they're trying to understand is you can have those feelings of, you know, struggling with guilt or shame or a sense of failure, your past, but that's not the case. God is never done with us. And he's the God of second chances. And you see that time and time again in the Bible where. And that's the beauty of the Bible, for. For all. All the things I love of the Bible, it is full of broken people that God is using to move his goals through history. Don't have to be perfect to find Christianity, but there is a perfect God waiting for you. [00:07:04] Speaker B: So, you know, with that being said, you know, I pulled up the daily devotional that you and I put together. It's out there for our listeners. If you'd like it, you know, email us. We'll find some way to distribute it. But here's the deal. I thought about this, and this is super important. If you're out there, if you feel like God is separated, if you're separated from God, congratulations. Good. And here's why that's good. Because you have now healthy respect of where we are, because we're also right. There's nobody righteous. Romans 3:10 says it right. It's called the Romans Road, says, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Here's the best part, Colby. And I thought about this last night when I went through what's called sodic, and I went to sodic level 2, very clear about this special operations target interdiction course. And it's long distance, you know, and back then, it was the 762 Remington 700. And it. You shot a thousand meters. I'll tell you why. Because at a thousand meters, that was all that bullet had. People used to. You always knew when somebody's lying to go, oh, yeah, I could shoot half a mile. And I'm like, no, ain't a. That bullet doesn't go that far. It just, you know, well, it. Well, 800 meters is half a mile, but, you know, or they'd say something longer and it's. A thousand meters is as far as it goes. It was. It was like that was the end of. The end of it. And you either hit the target or you didn't. That was it. Either you hit it or you didn't. And that's what send means, is, well, I missed the target. Well, if you were in sodic back then and your thousand meter shot come up and you missed it, and there wasn't a hole in the target. You missed it. You didn't pass. Well, that's where we are, right? We've all sent. So we all missed the target. So we're all failing that course. And he goes in there and the rest of Romans. And I like Paul, or I think I do. I mean, he's a Christian, right? Like, I've never met him, but I would like to. And it goes through there, and it says, every single one of us has. But all it says is, if you just declare Jesus, that's it, right? Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. And that's Romans 10:13. That's everyone. It doesn't say everyone minus these 50, 60 people or these 700 people. It literally means every one. And that's, you know, I think that is where Satan gets you. You know, he tells you one, you're not savable. You know, are you Worse than Paul was. I mean for those of you who are new listeners and don't get it, Paul when he was Saul was dragging people out of churches and killing them, right? [00:09:50] Speaker A: Yes, sir. [00:09:51] Speaker B: That's a rough go. Yeah, I got another guy too, but I'll save him. [00:09:56] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead. [00:09:57] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [00:09:58] Speaker A: No, no, you bring up a good point. And it's, it's recognizing some of those feelings of what I would say is distance. Right. And in putting, you know, some, some bounds on those feelings, like you know, when we say God is. We feel God is done with us. It's often coming from a place that. Well, I feel dist. That relationship. Yeah, right. And I think about like the story as I was preparing for this Joshua 8 and 1 where they had just had this mighty victory, right? Knocked down the walls of Jericho and then there's this little insignificant town called for lack of. I can't say, AI, you know that that's what. I don't know, AI. Sure, that's what it's not called. But this way it looks in the Bible, AI. And so. But what was found was people have high fived on the objective of Jericho and then quickly went back to their old habits of their old gods and had. It was sin in the camp. Oh yeah, you know, and then the Lord let them experience some failure. But it wasn't that he was done with them, it was that he was correcting them and bringing them to their full promise. You know, failure is not on the table when God is involved. And I think sometimes we forget that because we get involved in these common things, these reasons like well, you know, there's a little bit of lack of accountability. Maybe there's some sin going on, prolonged sin. Like there's, there's something that you need to kind of get refined out or there's this hardship that, you know, makes you feel unworthy or weak. But that's just lies. As you said before. Satan tells us like hey, you know what God is through. Look what you did. Look what you said. Look, look what the choices that you made. He doesn't love you. Could never love someone like you. And that's just that, just a flat lie from the enemy. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Is it is. You know, you think about it. And I love John 10. We were talking about John 10, 28, 29. But 29 says my father which gave them is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my father's hand. So I like training grip, I really do. I think a man should have a Strong grip. But nobody's grip is stronger than our fathers. Right? You're. They're in there. And that means nobody. It means nobody. Like, God is very deliberate in his words, and it's even written in red. So it's our Lord and Savior's words. If you don't like it, take it up with him. You know, debate on if you want. But we talked about that with Job last time. So you figure out how that's going to go. Yeah, but, you know, and people who go, okay, so. So we've established you are savable. Right. Like, you really are. And. And then we all make mistakes. None of us walk on water. I'm an excellent swimmer for a reason. [00:12:41] Speaker A: That's right. [00:12:42] Speaker B: Like, yeah. And then you're putting his grip. And I do have to tell you, a little funny when we were in our. We were in Iraq, and I try not to tell too many stories, but it is funny. So, again, love to train grip. I think you got to have a strong grip. And these. My buddies, my ODA had given out a bunch of pens, and all the kids were, you know, pen, pen, pen. And I'd come out of this thing, and, you know, the boys were. They didn't look real. Like it wasn't Christmas time. You know, they were, like, kind of frustrated. And I'm like, what's going on? And they go, you'll see. And what it was was some of the kids were bullying and taking the pins that we were trying to distribute. You know how it is. [00:13:21] Speaker A: Yep. [00:13:22] Speaker B: And so they come up and they're like, pen, mister. Pin, mister. And I kind of smile, and I go, you want my pen? Get it. And I held that pen out, and it could have been, like, just a quarter of an inch sticking out of my hand. And I don't know how many of them it was, but they got that pen. [00:13:39] Speaker A: They were going to take you down to get that pen. They loved pins over there. [00:13:43] Speaker B: I think I had, like, 60 kids hanging on my arm just for that one pen. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Yeah, but no, that's. That's a. That's a good point. Like, as far as, you know, it's easy to say that God is done with this, but just hold on. You know, just like those kids were holding on, they were getting it. Hold on. Because God is not done with you yet. And you can't buy into the lies of society. You can't buy into the lies of what, mom, dad, spouse, kid, whatever, right? That says that you're not worthy for his love or you're not worthy for his purposes, yes. You just got to hold on, man. [00:14:20] Speaker B: It's a gift. It's a free gift. Yeah, right. And when you think about it. And I gave again as I was kind of contemplating. Jesus paid for our sins with his. His only begotten son. His only son. Now if you've got kids out there, think about that. That's your, your, Your prize is your, you know, your children. It says even that children are like arrows in the, the quiver of an archer. Right? And if you like shooting bows, you know how, how, how great that is. Yeah, well, so Jesus. So God pays the price of your sin and he goes, all right, I'm gonna take it. Show me one equivalent, one equivalent monetary exchange in some way, right, that you have, that equals that back where you can go, no, I'm gonna purchase that back because God's fair. I mean, he. When Adam turned over this world to, to Satan, God's honored that, right? [00:15:21] Speaker A: He's honored that choice for sure. [00:15:22] Speaker B: He sure has. He's honored it. He honors your free will. So when he says, I've paid for it, tell me how you're buying it back. Well, I've made some mistakes. Your actions didn't, didn't equate to winning to begin with. They're not going to equate to getting better and getting it back. So now if you, if you ultimately make that choice to not be it a part of his kingdom, that's, that's, that's your choice. [00:15:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. I love that, Jason. You know, and this is a mantra. I think we both have our things that we, we, we press in on every show. And one for me is, is the accountability for us as believers and for non believers coming on the journey is that there's two dangerous gifts that we were given as humanity that we blow off, collective we blow off every day. One is free will, meaning your choices. As much as it pisses people off and makes them mad that God doesn't make us automatons and, and just lets you get the, the magic button that your choices don't matter. They do. And the other one is time going in one direction never goes back. And that's it. And the choices you make in time and space, they impact things, right? And that doesn't mean just because you made a bad choice to bring it centrally back to what we're talking about, that God doesn't love you. It just means that you might have to go through a little bit of a muck and mire, mud, you know, to, to get back to where you're at. But here's the great news is God is a God of second chances. And just a couple examples that came on my mind, and I would ask people to think about as I go through these real quick, like, do you see yourself in any of these stories? And what does it say about God's heart? For Pete Samson, absolutely. Physical superstition. Reminds me of Mr. Howard here, super physical fitness guy. But he had this one little flaw, and it was he. He. He loved God's greatest creation on earth, which is women. Yeah, a little too much. And it led to his downfall. And I encourage, you know, especially young dudes, go read that story. But God remembered him and gave him a second chance. One, to vindicate what had been done to him, but to also vindicate the mockery that God's enemies were doing. The other one would be good old Jacob. And I don't want to take Jason's thunder because I'm sure he has some guys he could point out too. But Jacob was one that comes to mind, too. Jacob's name literally means trickster. And this dude was. You talk about bad family blood. You know, just tricked his brother. Mom was terrible. He got tricked by a dirty uncle. Again, the Bible is beautiful. Complete dysfunction. But, you know, Jacob and the 12 tribes that became on Israel and. And through the line of Jesus, Jacob was able to be redeemed. And he had a change of heart in a lot of ways. So I say all that again. Can you see yourself in a couple of those examples? And what does God say? Like, he. He doesn't give up on us till we sometimes self select and walk away from him. And then we want to blame him that we walked away. [00:18:32] Speaker B: You know, I love the book. I love the story of Samson. I really do. And because it dawned on me one day, I think Samson was about average size. And here's. Oh, absolutely. [00:18:44] Speaker A: I think he was a big boy. [00:18:46] Speaker B: Nope. Because here's the thing. When. When he goes into the Philistines, they had to have somebody point him out. Like, if he's a big dude, like, nobody has to look and go, we're. [00:18:56] Speaker A: About to go read that again now. Yeah, okay. [00:18:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Nobody goes, where's the rock? Or, you know, where's Andre the Giant? [00:19:01] Speaker A: They. [00:19:01] Speaker B: They can see them. You know, we've got friends that are 6 foot 7. Like, it's pretty easy to see them. He, you know, they have to figure him out. And then the next thing is, is Samson was so caught up in Delilah that he. She lied to him like, three or four times, like, tell me the secret of your strength. And he's like, well, it's this new vines. And he wakes up. [00:19:24] Speaker A: Sermon for young dudes. Yeah, just right there. Like, I don't know what was going. [00:19:28] Speaker B: On, but, man, hey, man, he was completely enthralled with her. [00:19:32] Speaker A: Completely. [00:19:33] Speaker B: Come 100, head over heels, red flags everywhere. Like, she was crazy, sold him out. And sometimes guys get down that path. [00:19:45] Speaker A: Yes, they do. [00:19:46] Speaker B: Let me tell you something. It's just like with Samson. It'll. It'll bind you. Sin will bind you. And then what they do to Samson. And then they poked out his eyes. It'll blind you. And then he was pushing that wheel. You know, you're just going to grind away at it, but. But God's not done with you. Just like you said he was there. And he goes, could you let me rest and put my hands on the pillars? And they did it. And he killed a ton of them. [00:20:12] Speaker A: Yes, he did. [00:20:13] Speaker B: You know, when you look at your Bible now, this is mine, and it's a Holman study bible printed in 2012. I love this thing. I used it all through school and everywhere else. It's got 2000, 236, 7, 8 pages. The last couple are not numbered. That whole thing has a common theme called redemption. That's what it's all about. It's redemption. The grand narrative of this whole book is redemption. And if you think you're bad off, this is. So Hezekiah was a king, right? I like Hezekiah. And. And I've gotten an. [00:21:00] Speaker A: He's. [00:21:01] Speaker B: He's like, there's David, and then right in there is Hezekiah. But Hezekiah has this child and you know, he's gonna die. God tells him, hey, you're gonna die. Be church like a bird. And God says, hey, okay, I'm gonna give you 15 years. Like, that's pretty close relationship. [00:21:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:19] Speaker B: Where God says, okay, I'm gonna push your death date back or your birth date into heaven. And he goes, I'm gonna push it back. Here's Manasseh. Manasseh's born at 12. Or he's. He's 12 years old when he becomes king. And I asked, you know, I asked my son this one time when he was 12, I said, why do you think Manasseh was so bad? Hezekiah was good. Why is Manasseh so bad? And he's like, well, maybe he grew up without a dad. And that's. That's true. Maybe did. Maybe. Maybe there are people out there that, hey, I grew up without a dad or a mom, something, right? And then they, they, they. They're angry at God and so they turn their back. So there's Manasseh and. And he's in 2nd Chronicles 33. He's also in Kings, but 2 Chronicles 33 is where the story is really good. So he reigned 55 years, and it flat out says he was the most evil king they had ever had. His dad was real good. [00:22:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:18] Speaker B: He comes in and he goes. He reverses all his dad's choices. Did you know. I didn't know this till last night. I forgot it. He put all the pagan altars in the house of God. Like, he brought paganism in there and encouraged people to do it. It says they were worse than the heathen. He encouraged pagan worship. He encouraged BAAL worship. He sacrificed his son on the altar. And a lot of. A lot of parents, you know, they. They sacrifice their kids on the altar of success, which is what BAAL was like, hey, if you sacrifice your kid, you'll be very prosperous. Right? He made Judah to heir. And it says to be worse than the heathen. That's in verse nine. And then verse ten says, the Lord spoke to Manasseh and to the people. So obviously there was some people there that was, take this off ramp. Don't do this, don't do this. But God gave him plenty of time. And then he sends him to Babylon. He goes, okay, just like you, hey, you know, some distance. We're going to give you some distance, but it's corrective distance. Yeah, okay. And. And so Manasseh's there and he's broken. And he says. He says he humbled himself greatly before God. And he says, that was it. He was restored. God says, okay, I'm bringing you back to Jerusalem. And you know what? Manasseh did, verses 15 and 16, he goes, he threw out all the idols, he restored God's house and he worshiped, and he tried to get Israel back on track. Right? Now, the consequences of his decisions were there were people that were just headlong into it, right? Like, he influenced them in that manner. However, he was redeemed, you know, and I, man, I. I look forward to meeting him one day. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Oh, no. It's a great story, Jason. And. And it goes to this point that we're. We're talking about in the segment is God is a God of second choice or chances? And I think sometimes we can miss that when we feel like he's done with us, you know, Lamentations 3:22, through 23 says that his mercies are new every morning. [00:24:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:25] Speaker A: You know, that is a encouragement for any of us out there, and we're going through something. It's a fresh start every day with God. [00:24:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:33] Speaker A: You know, every day. Again, that time thing I thought about, it's going forward like it's a fresh start. And then just one more for second choice. We can't leave without talking about, oh, good old Pete. Cussing, angry, fighting Peter. And if you're out there and you're thinking you're talking about somebody that's relatable. Peter denied the living king of king and lord of Lord Jesus. Denied him straight. Like, I don't know. And not only that, he put some emphasis of cussing about it, of how strongly he didn't know him. [00:25:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:04] Speaker A: The same Peter that boldly said, hey, I'm gonna walk on water, and then proceeded to almost drown. Yeah. [00:25:11] Speaker B: He jumped out in the water. [00:25:14] Speaker A: Pete is someone I look forward to having conversation with because I can relate, Peter. And more words than not. The point is, is if Jesus can restore someone that flat out, adamantly, cursingly denied him, how much more so can he do for us? Right? And we need to stop buying this lie that God is done with us. Right. He's not. His mercies renew every day. [00:25:36] Speaker B: I love Peter because think about this, okay? Peter's big. If you look, you can infer that Peter was strong. Like, when everybody else couldn't get the fish in the boat with the net, he was like, I got to get out of the way. So Peter had a strong back, and he was, you know, he's a little. A little rough around edges. He cut that dude's ear off. And he does. But he has dinner with Jesus. He walks with Jesus. He has this super close relationship that none of us were blessed with. [00:26:08] Speaker A: No. [00:26:09] Speaker B: And then they go, do you know this guy? And he's like, nope. And he goes on, by the way, when one of the. It's like a woman asks him. Now, look, I'm not. I'm not being sexist with this statement, but you got to understand, in that time and culture, there was the male hierarchy, right? And then females were way down there. Right. That's the way it was. And so to be punked by a female and you're this big, strong, burly guy. It destroyed his ego. It really did. [00:26:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:46] Speaker B: And not only to the point. I love the story. So. Not only to the point that it shames him, but, you know, when. When they come the good news that Jesus has wrote his Rose again. Mary, Martha were the first ones to get it. And they come in, they tell him, and John take off running, right? [00:27:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:05] Speaker B: And he outruns John. Or he. John outruns it. No, wait, wait, wait. John outruns it. [00:27:10] Speaker A: John outruns him. The beloved disciple, which is John. Yeah. [00:27:13] Speaker B: Yeah. So John outruns him. He's real proud of that foot race. [00:27:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:16] Speaker B: But Peter knocks him out of the way to get in. [00:27:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:19] Speaker B: You imagine the look on his. The thoughts that went through his head. I have denied the living Savior. [00:27:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:26] Speaker B: The one I've waited for my whole life. What is there for me to do for the rest of my life? [00:27:31] Speaker A: So going fishing. [00:27:33] Speaker B: I'm going to go fishing. I'm just going to do what I'm doing. [00:27:35] Speaker A: That's what Peter landed on. [00:27:36] Speaker B: I'm completely lost. I'm completely gone. [00:27:39] Speaker A: So done with me. [00:27:41] Speaker B: He's done with me. He's done me. So Peter's in the boat. His friends are there with him later. Like, hey, come on, man, let's, let's, let's get back at this. And Jesus shows up. I didn't know this in Tyson got was on earlier, explained it. He said that when Jesus shows up on the shore, he is the fire that he's using to cook the coals. It's a unique word. It's the same type fire that Peter warmed himself by. Like, it's heated by the same element. And as Jesus calls him and Peter sees him, what does Peter do? He jumps in that water again. He. Captain Dan's it. He doesn't even wait. He's like, I'm in there. Or force dumps it. You know, we saw Captain Dan, but he jumps in that water. [00:28:24] Speaker A: Oh, Pete. [00:28:25] Speaker B: He's like, hey, I'm here, I'm here, I'm here. He goes through that restoration. That's what it's about. [00:28:31] Speaker A: That's what it's about. Jason. It's a beautiful Peter's probably. And again, that's why I wanted to time it because me. You have so many good off, off the air comments about Peter. Because Peter, Peter was a man's man. Yeah, Peter. Peter was the guy like, hey, we're gonna two in the morning, we're gonna go tear up some stuff and rearrange some furniture with some guys. Yeah. Peter was about that life. He was like, okay, let's go do it. But it's a beautiful thing of how God transformed his life and his heart. [00:29:00] Speaker B: Right. [00:29:00] Speaker A: And took all that raw machismo and turned it into one of the most Powerful disciples that. That he had. Yeah. And it just shows he's not. He's not done with us. And I hate to hear so many people are missing the greatest decision, the greatest thing that can impact and change your life. Especially when you're going through those. Those rough times, having that relationship with God because you believe he was done with you over something, that he's absolutely like, nah, man. Have you read the Bible? Because. [00:29:28] Speaker B: Yeah. And he. Well, he tells Peter, he goes, how many times should I. How many times should I. Peter goes, how many times should I forgive a guy? He goes, seven times. Seven times seven times seven. That's what Jesus does, you know, it's all about redemption, you know, it really is. And. [00:29:48] Speaker A: And we miss how much he loves us, man. He loves us so much that he sent. And it ties right to that verse, John 3:16. You see it at football games, basketball, baseball games. People have this verse up, but you don't. And we in the Bible even tells. We can't grasp the depths of God's love. For us to do that, to send Jesus and for Jesus to step up and say he loves us so much to do that while we were still sinners, he died. He died for me and you and everyone listening that thousands of years later, we didn't have a foggy clue, never saw him while we were sinners. So why would you think. Why would you ever let Satan, someone around you, anybody, a circumstance, a situation, tell you that he's done with you, man? He's not moms out there, dads, aunts, uncles, whoever's listening, God is not done with you. Your best days are ahead of you instead of behind you. Just trust in him. [00:30:41] Speaker B: That relationship is there. He's waiting on you. You know, the. The prodigal son is the best, and it's one that everybody should be able to relate to. Right. He was, by the way, he was that guy's son when he left. Right. So a lot of people go, well, I'm saved. I've accepted Jesus, but I backslid. Well, that's kind of where that kid was. Yeah, he goes off, right? [00:31:03] Speaker A: Yep. [00:31:04] Speaker B: That's a. That's a beautiful story and people really should dig into it. But as the guy has hit rock bottom and he's feeding pigs and he's eating pig slop and he goes, man, if I can just go back, I'll be a servant to my dad. It's. It's a beautiful story because as he's turning back, he says his dad saw him afar off. Right. That means he was looking for him every day. [00:31:29] Speaker A: Every day. [00:31:30] Speaker B: And he didn't. He didn't do like we do and go, yeah, there he comes needing that. He needs his money. No, it says he ran to him, and as he got ready to talk, he. He didn't even. If you look at it, he doesn't even get out that. Because he says, hey, I've sinned against you, dad. He doesn't get out, I'll be a servant. He doesn't even get that part of the story out. Like, his dad cuts him off and says, go get a rope, get some sandals. Let's get a ring, and let's get him back in the family. Come on. And that's how our father is. [00:32:02] Speaker A: Yes. [00:32:03] Speaker B: Right. Like he is looking for us afar off. [00:32:06] Speaker A: Yes. I love that. [00:32:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So if you're out there and you're like, man, I just. It ain't. You know, I've. I've slept so far, man, you need to read some. You need to open that book up and, you know, Google the. The Prodigal Son. Right? [00:32:22] Speaker A: That's another great one right there. Well, I'm going to end it on that note. What I want to tell the audience before we put a ball is that there's so much.
